I just had some very special clients return from a river cruise on the Danube River in Europe. I recommended AMAWaterways to them. Instead of me telling you how about how it all turned out, I thought I’d share the email they sent to AMA, which is an honest review of a river cruise company.

We’d like to personally thank you for the outstanding trip we enjoyed on the Danube River. Clearly, the top executives of your company have set a tone of outstanding customer service and personal accountability that was reflected in every detail of our trip. Here are some of the things that truly impressed us about our river cruise:
- Every staff member on AMAPrima was outstanding. We would give a 5 rating to every staff interaction we had. You have an incredible team on this boat! From Daniela, who did an incredible job caring for our room, to the captain, who was friendly and competent, everyone went out of their way to assure we had a wonderful, safe, and enjoyable trip. Our trip manager Csava handled every need and every passenger with skill and respect.
- The boat was immaculately clean, well designed, and very comfortable. Thank you for a boat that was designed with details in mind. The shelf above the bathroom sink is a good example. It provided additional, well used counter space in a small bathroom. Well done. We also enjoyed the interior/exterior balcony concept.
- The food was excellent and the dining room staff were attentive and friendly. We especially appreciated the wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, the freshly baked goods, and the use of fresh herbs.
- The local guides did a great job and were very knowledgeable and kind. We especially enjoyed Doris, our guide for the entire day in Salzburg. The busses were very comfortable, clean, and driven well.
- Your gift of a beautiful silver scarf was an unexpected and appreciated kindness. Thank you so much. I will cherish it as a good memory of our trip and the way your company values its customers.
We have already told many friends about our trip on AMAPrima. We look forward to another trip with your company in the future.

Joe and Jenell also told me personally that, compared to an ocean cruise (big boat), due to the quality of clients that AMAWaterways attracts to their cruises, there was definitely an “us atmosphere”, instead of a “me atmosphere”. The passengers were not pushy and were very considerate of each other. I have to agree that I’ve found that to be true, also.
